DUNSEITH, ND (KXNET) — Thursday marked 24 years since the attacks on the World Trade Center, a day that forever changed our nation. To commemorate the anniversary, people throughout North Dakota and Manitoba gathered at the International Peace Garden to honor the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call.
Processing an event like 9/11 can seem unfathomable, especially now that more than two decades have passed since the attacks. But the memorial at the International Peace Garden serves as a reminder of every life lost and every life that was changed forever on that fateful day in 2001. Now, Peace Garden leaders continue striving to make sure that North Dakotans truly never forget.
It was a somber morning along the border. As rain continued to patter down throughout the day, dozens
