Many residents in Dauphin and Cumberland counties Thursday got to see a formation of low-flying military aircrafts as part of a routine training session that falls on the anniversary of Sept. 11.
The 193rd Special Operations Wing conducted the training in the afternoon, departing Harrisburg International Airport and followed a route that was visible to those in Fort Indiantown Gap, Middletown, Lewisberry, Dillsburg, and Shippensburg as well as other locations on the West Shore.
The training also served to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent victims who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and the first responders who risked their own lives to save others, according to a news release from the Pa. National Guard.
