Many across the United States are still grappling with the sudden death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kirk was assassinated on a college campus in Utah while speaking at an outdoor event. It happened in front of thousands of people, and then videos of the horrific scene made it's way across social media.

Some college students at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga told Local 3 News that the entire scene hits close to home.

"If somebody on that scale can be killed on a college campus, that makes you wonder a little bit about your own safety," said Laken Coppinger, the Chief of Staff with UTC's College Republicans.
