North City couple closer to moving back home nearly 4 months after tornado

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - James Sanders said he will never forget when the May 16 tornado ripped through The Ville.

“I was sitting in the living room looking at the television, and I looked out the window behind me,” he recalled. “It looked like the roof was being torn off the house.”

James’ wife, Sharon, was just minutes away at the store when the tornado struck.

Sharon told First Alert 4 The Ville transformed in a few short minutes.

“The whole world had changed, houses were just flat on the ground,” she said. “You could see roofs and trees all in the streets.”

What happened in the aftermath of the storm to the couple’s dual family home that also houses their adult son and Sharon’s elderly father still moves Sharon to tears.
