LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A family is grieving after human remains were identified as a missing Lake Charles woman.

Earlier this summer, human remains were found in Vinton. Last week, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified that those remains belonged to Tameika Watley.

Watley’s family shared some powerful words with 7News, pleading for answers.

“Whoever, whoever is involved, whoever was involved, whoever had their hands on this matter? I pray that the Lord has mercy on their soul,” Tameika’s sister, Juanita Shavers, said.

“All I want is justice for my baby. All I want is all I want to know,” Tameika’s mother, Anita Watley, said.
