The Colorado women’s soccer team made sure the season’s first setback didn’t turn into a losing streak.
The Buffaloes didn’t take long to dent the scoreboard, using early goals by Vivi Zacarias and Jace Holley to post a 2-0 win at the University of Denver on Thursday night.
It was the final nonconference game for the Buffs, who posted their 14th consecutive victory against the Pioneers. It also was CU’s seventh consecutive road win at DU.
Coming off their first loss of the season on Sunday at Wisconsin, the Buffs jumped out quickly at DU, with Zacarias scoring in the fourth minute. It was the first career goal for Zacarias, a freshman midfielder from Lynwood, Calif.
Holley continued her hot start, posting her eighth goal of the season in the eighth minute off an assist from Emerson Lay
