A speed 'table' and cushions are planned for Bedworth road near a new housing estate. The traffic calming measures along Smarts Road come after planning permission was given for new houses in the area.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council gave Vistry Homes Limited Wolverhampton the go-ahead to build 122 homes in the area back in July 2023. As part of this, one of the planning conditions was to provide road safety changes.
Now Warwickshire County Council , which is in charge of highways, has to approve the plans and the £173,000 funding from the developer so that the woks can take place.
"These works are necessary to enable the planning consent granted by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to be implemented," a council paper explains.
