Lubbock police are investigating a Wednesday night crash that left a 29-year-old man dead.
Patrol officers responded about 10:40 p.m. to reports of a collision with injuries in the 2000 block of Chicago Avenue, according to a statement from Lubbock police.
Responding officers found Tyler Brown lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An initial investigation by the the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit indicated Brown was traveling north in the 2100 block of Chicago Avenue on a dirt bike not intended for street use and had no lighting equipment, the release states.
Brown was turning into a driveway when he was struck by a southbound pickup truck and was thrown from his dirt bike. Other factors contributing to the crash were not immediately cle
