GRESHAM, Oregon — Firefighters in Gresham will soon have a new training tower, thanks to state and local funding. But before construction begins, the old tower must be torn down — a task with its own story about community support.
Starting Monday, apprentices with the Oregon and South Idaho Chapters of the Laborer's International Union of North America (LiUNA), began donating their time at the site, dismantling the 4-story the tower while learning their trade.
