LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Two of Northeast Ohio’s premier arts organizations are joining forces for a special evening of music and dance. Ohio Contemporary Ballet and BlueWater Chamber Orchestra will present a collaborative performance on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium.

The program’s centerpiece will be “Sehnsucht,” choreographed by Nicholas Rose and set to Edward Elgar’s “Serenade for Strings.” The German title, meaning “deep and profound longing,” reflects the personal nature of the work.

Choreographer Rose began his career with Ohio Contemporary Ballet before performing with the Dance Theatre of Harlem and The National Ballet of Canada. He created the piece in memory of his friends Alex and Jackie Berman, who were lost to gun violence.
