Australian netballers are in for a 40 per cent pay rise after a “landmark” new pay deal set to copy sports including cricket with a revenue-sharing model for the national team.

Netball Australia confirmed on Friday that an agreement had been reached with the Australian Netball Players’ Association (ANPA) on the new collective player agreement.

Under the new deal, and for the first time in the sport’s history, players will receive a share of Diamonds sponsorship, broadcast and event revenue secured by the sport’s governing body.

Under the three-year deal, Diamonds players will receive about a 40 per cent pay increase over the term.
