SHREVEPORT, La, - The Red River Quilt Show is back at the Louisiana Fairgrounds in Shreveport offering visitors a vibrant display of artistry and tradition.

Now more of an art exhibit than a conventional craft show, this year’s event features nearly 300 quilts, each showcasing intricate patterns, colors, and craftsmanship that video and photos can hardly capture in full.

While some of the quilts are created for warmth or decorative use, others carry personal and cultural stories—pieces meant to be passed down through generations.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux attended the show and took part in the festivities by selecting his personal favorite quilt. He shared that his own grandmother once made him a quilt, emphasizing quilting’s deep roots in American family life and tradition.
