LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - After a warm and humid morning, temperatures warm quickly through the day thanks to plentiful sunshine. Lunchtime will see temperatures around 90 before they climb into the mid 90s this afternoon. Rain is not expected. For high school football tonight, temperatures will gradually drop through the 80s with mostly clear skies and high humidity.

The tropics are mostly quiet, but a tropical wave exiting the coast of Africa has a medium chance of development as it moves westward through the Atlantic. We have plenty of time to monitor it and there are no tropical threats anytime soon.
