LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Every year, Sept. 11 is a reminder of the attacks that took place on the day 24 years ago.
"There's also things in the news daily, like new tragedies that happen on a daily basis, so it's easy to forget the past, but there are some things in the past that we don't want to forget and today is one of those days," Sarah Cveticanin, co-owner of Halligans Bar & Grill, in Lexington said.
It was first responders who were tasked with being quick, brave, and rescuing those around them. More than 400 of them lost their lives.
Lexington first responders and community members paid their respects Thursday with a remembrance ceremony and fellowship.
