President Trump said Friday morning there is a "high degree of certainty" that the suspect in the Charlie Kirk shooting was in custody.
"I think with a high degree of certainty we have him in custody," Trump said during an appearance on "Fox & Friends."
The president cautioned he was "subject to be corrected," but told the Fox News hosts that he was sharing what he had been told just before going on air.
Trump said someone close to the subject had notified authorities. The informant, Trump said, was a minister.
"So much work has been done over the last two and a half days…but yeah, I think we’re in great shape. And he’s in custody," Trump added.
Law enforcement had not announced that it had apprehended a suspect, though there was a scheduled update for Friday morning. Officials late T
