BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, Sept. 10, prompting vigils in his honor across the country, including two in the Baton Rouge area this weekend.

The speaking event was part of Kirk’s “The American Comeback Tour."

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of the conservative activist.

Louisiana State Senator Valarie Hodges announced on social media that a vigil is planned for Sunday night in Livingston Parish.

It is called the "Cry Out to God Prayer Vigil for Charlie Kirk's America."
