JACKSON — The Mississippi Supreme Court has rejected a new appeal from death row inmate Leslie Galloway III, ruling that his latest effort to overturn his conviction came too late and did not raise any valid new claims.

Galloway was convicted in 2010 of the capital murder of Shakeylia Anderson in Harrison County. He has already lost a direct appeal and a previous post-conviction petition, which is a type of appeal inmates can file after their regular appeal is over to challenge their conviction or sentence on other grounds.
