DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Something is brewing in the Twin Ports because “Duluth Oktoberfestival, presented by Renewal by Andersen” returns this weekend.

From stein holding contests to Bavarian food, the festival is a lively three-day event celebrating German culture.

Attendees can even meet King Ludwig II, the representative of the event.

Ludwig II is most excited about one event for the public to watch.

“Sunday, we have the Dachshund Derby. Those little wieners run wild on Sunday,” he said.

The Derby features 64 dogs and kicks off at noon.

There will also be live music from a band out of Minneapolis called JUNK FM on Friday and Saturday.

There will also be yard games for attendees to enjoy throughout the entire weekend.
