SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The largest multi-county hiring effort in Coastal Georgia continued Friday morning, with people searching for new jobs funneling into EnMarket Arena.

A large component of this hiring event’s success is the more than 1,000 International Paper employees who have to find a new job soon since the company is closing a few weeks ago.

The Regional Industry Support Enterprise (RISE) partnered with International Paper, the City of Savannah, Chatham County, WorkSource Coastal, and Savannah Technical College to host the event.

Around 1,400 people attended the event on Thursday , according to RISE representatives on Friday.

In an effort to continue that constant flow of foot traffic on Friday, the first 300 job seekers received a free breakfast.
