HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Sleeping Giant Park Association this week announced construction has officially begun on a new visitors center at the popular state park.
In a social media post Wednesday, the association said they've spent years planning and advocating for this moment.
"This long-awaited project will serve as a hub for park visitors—a place to learn about the Giant’s ecology, history, and recreation opportunities, as well as a space for SGPA programs and community events," they said in the post.
The log-cabin style structure is set to include a septic system and bathrooms. • Visitors center under construction at Sleeping Giant State Park, as of Sept. 10, 2025. • Visitors center under construction at Sleeping Giant State Park
