MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - With President Trump’s recent decision to move the National Guard to the City of Memphis , many lawmakers are sharing their opinions on the matter.

Earlier this week, Mayor Paul Young released a statement in support of the decision:

Earlier this week, I was informed that the Governor and the President were considering deploying the National Guard and other resources to Memphis. I am committed to working to ensure any efforts strengthen our community and build on our progress.
