World Suicide Prevention Day 2025, themed “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”, was observed on September 10 at Khliehriat West Community Hall, East Jaintia Hills District. The programme was organised by the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), East Jaintia Hills.

Present at the programme were District Malaria Officer, Dr. C.S. Bareh; Medical & Health Officer in-charge of the Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) Centre, Khliehriat, Dr. J. Nongtdu; Additional Public Prosecutor (Panel Lawyer), District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Melody War; District Programme Manager (NHM), A. Dhar; and DMHP Psychiatric Social Worker, Civil Hospital Khliehriat, Thaiwan Kyndiah, besides officials, teachers, students and community members.
