ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions are hopeful Taylor Decker will be able to play against the Chicago Bears in this weekend’s home opener. But they are balancing the lengthy season ahead and trying to make sure their starting left tackle is good to go for the long haul and not just Week 2.
Decker is not expected to practice on Friday, which means he heads into the weekend with a week full of no participation. Dan Campbell isn’t giving a definitive yes or no on Decker’s status, and said he wasn’t sure at this point if the issue is related to the veteran tackle’s offseason surgery.
