EXCLUSIVE: Amazon MGM Studios has boarded the thriller Mysteria , with Craig Zobel in early talks to direct and Charlize Theron in early talks to produce. Sources stress that the project is in early development, but if deals do close, the film would be developed as a starring vehicle for Theron. She also would produce through her Secret Menu banner along with her partners Beth Kono and AJ Dix.

Eric Heisserer penned the script and is producing through his Chronology banner with Carmen Lewis also producing through the company.

Amazon had no comment. Plot details are vague, other than the film being described as a cyber thriller.

Secret Menu most recently produced the sequel to Theron’s hit Netflix action pic The Old Guard. The film bowed this summer and had Theron reprising
