Uptown welcomed a new after-work hangout when the Plaza Beer Garden opened Thursday at Wells Fargo Plaza, 325 S. Tryon Street.

Every Thursday through December 4, Resident Culture Brewing will operate an outdoor pop-up there, along with Mimosa Grill, which sells a small menu of small bites.

If you read my reviews of Qamaria Yemini Coffee Co. and Vavela, then you know I’m a big coffee lover. Well, I also love a good craft beer.

So, on opening day of the beer garden, I asked some friends to join me there. Here’s my review.

Setting the Scene

The temperature was about 70 degrees, and the plaza was decorated with string lights, a mural and seating — four-top tables, benches and high-top tables.
