Commemorations of 9/11 were held at local schools this week and service projects were held around the community. Uintah School District’s Discovery Elementary, Uintah Middle School, and Uintah High School each held special flag ceremonies. The Uintah High School ceremony included the retiring of the flag that had flown at the school and then new flags were raised to half staff. Uintah Middle School also took time to honor the lives lost and sacrifices made 24 years ago. Discovery Elementary children sang together as part of their ceremony. Community members have also stepped up to give service in remembering 9/11. Nearly 100 volunteers worked together on projects at the Project Alley home as they prepare to open and serve as an addiction recovery home for women. All are encouraged to find
