Northeastern Counseling Center and social service agencies that serve the Uintah Basin provided fun and food for families at two events this month. About 900 people were at the Vernal City Park to enjoy games, activities, and tokens for food trucks last night while there were about 1000 a week ago at the event in Roosevelt. These annual carnivals are all about encouraging families to get out and enjoy having dinner together. “Eating dinner with your kids reduces their risk of drinking alcohol underage by 33%,” shares Catherine Jurado with Northeastern Counseling. “Practically every helping social service agency in the Basin shows up to promote the resources and services they have for families so it’s also a great way for families to find out what there is in our community to help them.” Fo
