ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One of the suspects involved in an Albuquerque courtroom brawl that made national headlines was in court Friday, agreeing to a plea deal from the incident.

The fight happened at a district court hearing for Alexander Ortiz, who is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in January 2024. Surveillance video showed a man jump over from the gallery while a second man followed behind him. Both males can be seen fighting with Ortiz. The video later showed a woman grabbing a chair and hitting Ortiz and a Metropolitan Detention Center officer. The woman was identified as 34-year-old Jamie Lucero.

Friday morning, she pleaded guilty to attempted battery on an officer. A judge sentenced her to one year probation.
