An Atlantic City man on Friday admitted stabbing another man in the neck two years ago in Stanley Holmes Village, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Tyler Smith, 40, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and bias intimidation in exchange for a recommended sentence of 15 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 16.
On July 3, 2023, Atlantic City police responded to the 1600 block of Adriatic Avenue, found the stabbing victim and transported him to the hospital, the Prosecutor's Office said in a news release.
The victim told police he arrived in Stanley Holmes Village with a friend when he was approached by Smith, who said, “Why you keep bringing these white people around here?” before stabbing the victim in the neck, the Prosecutor's Office said.
