SARASOTA, FLA. (WSNN) — With its old Florida charm, Jungle Gardens has served the Suncoast and visitors alike since 1939.
The long-standing “mom-and-pop” zoo features botanical gardens, animal shows and special animal encounters.
“Here it’s learning, entertaining and experiencing things you’re not going to find anywhere else,” said Jungle Gardens’ Entertainment Lead, Alex Gillespie.
To start off on our Jungle Gardens journey, we visited the birds. The beautiful exotic birds greeted us with some warm hellos, dance moves, and even songs.
Most of the birds at the gardens were either donated or rescued. Some are even older than the grounds themselves. For example, Spooky the cockatoo is 89 years old. Visitors are able to interact with the exotic birds and even snap some photos in the bird
