WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita police are leading an investigation after officers found a large amount of blood outside a southeast Wichita home Friday morning.

Around 7:20 a.m., officers were called to the 4400 block of East Lincoln after someone reported an open door with blood outside the home. Police said when no one answered at the house, officers forced their way in to check for injuries.

The home was empty, but investigators said they found more blood and signs of a disturbance inside.

Police later identified the resident and made contact with her. She told officers that a disturbance had taken place outside on Thursday night, but no one had reported it to the police.
