A paraglider is recovering after crashing on the side of a mountain near Dunlap Thursday.
The Dunlap Fire Department says the older male was approximately 40 feet over the side of Lewis Chapel Mountain near Window Rock Road with a possible broken ankle. Close

Volunteer firefighters set up a haul system, placing the patient in a basket and bringing him to the top.
EMS evaluated him, but he decided to drive himself to get medical attention afterwards.
During the rescue, the patient told crews he was a retired firefighter from a department in the northeast.
The Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department and Piney Volunteer Fire Department assisted rescue squads by securing the scene and providing mutual aid.
