UConn First Night event not being held this year

STORRS, CT. (WFSB) - UConn’s First Night event is not being held this year, the university announced.

They cited ongoing renovations of Gampel Pavilion as the reason.

“The UConn Huskies look forward to seeing our students and fans out in force in the Basketball Capital of the World this season,” said the university in a statement.

The event served as a way for fans to get an early look at both the men’s and women’s teams before they hit the court.
