LEXINGTON, Ky. — A wave of protests took place Saturday in opposition to President Donald Trump's policies since returning to office in January.

Just outside the Fayette County District Court, the area was filled with people chanting, holding signs and playing the drums. Protesters of all ages came together, participating in the national "No Kings Then, No Kings Now" march.

The protests were held across all 50 states, marking the 250th anniversary of the American Revolutionary War.

Vered Rice, 17, and her mom said they came out to protect democracy and civil liberties.

"I need to have some kind of freedom in this country," Rice said.
