MONTGOMERY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - During the Friday morning West Virginia University Board of Governor’s meeting, the Board approved the deactivation or termination of 16 programs on its main and Potomac State campuses.
The consolidations are mostly concentrated in Early Childhood studies on the main Morgantown campus and engineering programs on the Potomac State campus.
“These kinds of program adjustments are routinely made at all colleges and universities,” WVU spokesperson Shauna Johnson told WSAZ in a statement.
The majors in Child, Youth, and Family Sciences and in Early Childhood Special Education will be terminated due to low enrollment.
