RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Judah Hall is an avid swimmer, but it took some time to get him here.

"When I was a little kid, I was afraid of water. I couldn't dip my head in the shower," Judah said.

It took him a bit, but Judah grew tired of watching his big sister having all the fun. Judah credits his first swim coach for getting him started with this sport.

"Just watching my sister swim made me want to do that too," he said. • (Firebirds Swim Team) • (Firebirds Swim Team) • (Firebirds Swim Team) • (Firebirds Swim Team)

Fast forward 13 years and Judah's sister Zion runs a non-profit called Champion's Coaching, which is dedicated to providing swimming education and support to underprivileged communities, focusing on empowering Black, Indigenous, and People of Color athletes.
