BROOKFIELD — Brookfield’s offense moved the ball over the field, helping the Warriors down Champion, 41-9, and move to .500 on the season.
After the first half was dominated by penalties, the Warriors tightened up after halftime.
“We had to make a couple adjustments here and there, but most of it was to stay mentally into the game,” Brookfield coach Randy Clark said.
Champion drove down the field on its initial drive, reaching the red zone, but couldn’t quite punch the ball into the end zone.
Ethan Cottrill got them on the board with a 24-yard field goal.
Brookfield responded with six however.
On a fourth-and-3, quarterback Blake Hammond found Keithen Flynn on an 18-yard strike. The Flashes blocked the extra point, leaving it 6-3 in favor of the Warriors.
