HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT)— In Hazard’s first home game of the season, they defeated Breathitt Co., 49-21 .
In the first quarter alone, there were 35 points scored between the two programs, with quarterbacks William Shoptaw and Miles Hollon both making big plays.
The Bulldogs got on the board first on a touchdown from Connor Holbrook.
The Bobcats answered on their next drive with a touchdown by John Hollon, followed by a two-point conversion courtesy of Eli Thomas to take an 8-7 lead.
Holbrook followed that up again with another touchdown with 3:49 remaining in the opening quarter.
Kyle Moore’s unit responded in 26 seconds with a rushing touchdown by Brayden Barnett, tying the game at 14 after the missed field goal.
Hazard would get the last points in the first quarter on a touchdown scored
