BLOOMINGTON ― During the early part of the football season, Bloomington South's Braylen Townsend and Shaun Cooper have been homerun hitters.

The senior backfield duo piled up nearly 800 yards while scoring eight touchdowns in the first three games of the season, including carrying the Panthers to a big win in Week 3 without their starting quarterback.

Bloomington North did its darndest to keep the pair under control, limiting them to just two runs over more than nine yards, but South had another security blanket ready to go in Duncan Combs and his healthy fleet of receivers.

The Cougars had no answers there as Combs and receiver Jalen Williams each had career nights to lift South to a 36-7 Conference Indiana football win at South on Friday, Sept. 12.
