A "despicable" sex offender is facing jail after being convicted of a number of offences against women.

William Byrne preyed on women in Ayrshire over a six-year-period.

The 45-year-old was convicted on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the High Court in Glasgow .

He pleaded guilty to offences, including rape and assault to injury and permanent disfigurement.
