TRAVERSE CITY — A Peninsula Township man who pleaded guilty to a financial felony will spend 38 to 180 months in prison after a judge said it’s the worst case of embezzlement from a vulnerable adult he’s seen come before the court.

“What this relationship turned into is what we see so often in these cases,” 13th Circuit Court Judge Charles Hamlyn told David Michael Martin, during Martin’s sentencing hearing Friday. “It was parasitic.”
