The IHM Home and School Association recently hosted a “Back 2 School Party” at the Houston Playground on a Friday night after the first week of school and things couldn’t have gone better.

Except, for the parking maybe. The social event was held on the same night that the ever growing NFL Flag Football League was holding its first scrimmages of the fallseason and street parking was at a premium.

I felt lucky to get a spot on Old Line Road, which was over two blocks away from the playground (yeah, but who’s complaining).

It was the perfect way for students, families, and teachers to congregate in a relaxed atmosphere away from the somewhat rigid confines of the school day.
