LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Rio Grande International Study Center (RGISC) is hosting an event to inform Laredoans about important climate change issues.

The “Protect our Climate, Protect our Air” town hall event will take place on Wednesday, September 17.

RGISC is urging the community to take action against weakened climate protections.

This comes after the federal government announced that it will be rolling back the “Endangerment Finding,” a science-based determination that greenhouse gases are a danger to public health and welfare.

Without this protection, the U.S. could lose the ability to regulate pollutants and protect communities.

This event brings together experts, local leaders, and community voices to discuss risks and how to make a difference.
