Duquesne gave No. 10 Lehigh its toughest opposition yet, but the Mountain Hawks were still able to prevail 35-21 on Saturday afternoon at Rooney Field. The two teams combined for 708 yards of total offense, including 435 yards passing. As one of the most efficient offensive units in FCS, Lehigh was able to lean on its strong running game to lead the way to victory.

The Mountain Hawks opened the scoring early in the second quarter, driving down the field before facing a 2nd-and-long on the Duquesne 13-yard line. Quarterback Hayden Johnson threw a ball that was deflected in the end zone but ended up right in the awaiting Garrett Guess’ hands for Lehigh’s first touchdown of the game.
