MONONA, Wis. (WMTV) - An annual Monona Grove cross country meet is taking on a new name.

This year, the tradition was renamed the “Glenn McNaughton Cross Country Invitational.” The event, hosted at the Monona Golf Course, was held on Saturday under its new name.

Glenn McNaughton was a math teacher and coach, dedicating more than 30 years to the community.

“For those who knew him, Glenn’s presence was steady, encouraging, and uplifting,” Monona Grove School District spokesperson Katy Byrnes Kaiser wrote in a release. “Whether at the starting line, in the classroom, or in the community, he embodied service, kindness, and generosity. His impact continues to be felt by the hundreds of athletes and thousands of students who were fortunate to learn from him.”
