Renewed plans to redevelop Kent’s historic home cricket ground with a hotel have been reignited.
The boss of Kent Cricket has revealed the club’s latest long-term vision to transform the Spitfire St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury.
Chief executive Simon Storey told KentOnline about the club’s ambition for new facilities featuring a new pavilion, media facilities and an on-site hotel, all of which have been included in Canterbury City Council’s latest draft Local Plan.
The document, which outlines agreeable projects in the district over the next 15 years, went out for consultation this week, and sets out a potential masterplan for the Kent County Cricket Club’s 178-year home.
