The University of Virginia football team boasts a deep and talented group of running backs, creating a challenge for the coaching staff to get each player involved. One of those players, Harrison Waylee, a graduate transfer from the University of Wyoming, has one of the most impressive résumés in the running back room. However, he didn’t see any carries in UVA’s narrow 35-31 loss to NC State at Carter-Finley Stadium.
That absence was partly due to the breakout performance of fellow running back J’Mari Taylor, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns in the game. Still, head coach Tony Elliott took the time afterward to apologize to Waylee for not getting him on the field.
