HOUGHTON, MI – Fall weather comes a little earlier in the Upper Peninsula, particularly on this jut of land that stretches north into Lake Superior.

As Michigan’s northernmost peninsula, the Keweenaw is known for epic winters and sunny summers . It’s also a great place for early fall color – and that’s what this new festival is all about.

The inaugural Canal Colors Festival is set for Friday, Oct. 3 and Saturday, Oct. 4, in downtown Houghton.
