On a bright autumn morning in Golaghat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stood before a crowd that had gathered not only to witness the inauguration of the Assam Bioethanol Plant but also to hear about a vision—one where bamboo could fuel cars, where shawls of tradition stood alongside semiconductors, and where Assam’s heritage was woven into India’s modern identity.

The Prime Minister began with greetings for Sharodiya Durga Puja and heartfelt tributes to Srimanta Sankardev, acknowledging the spiritual heart of Assam before turning to its economic future. His words, however, were not delivered as a dry policy outline.
