Laramie, Wyo. • Utah senior safety Rabbit Evans made his season debut on Saturday at Wyoming after missing the last two games with an injury.

But, just a few plays later, Evans suffered a lower leg injury in the first half of Utah’s win. The Jacksonville, Fla., native was then carted off the field, and the diagnosis could be “season-ending,” according to Kyle Whittingham.

“It doesn’t look good,” Utah’s head coach said on Saturday. “It’s a lower leg injury that looks like it could be season-ending. So that’s unfortunate. I feel so bad for him. He’s worked so hard and just can’t seem to get a break.

“Like I said, it’s something pretty, pretty serious.”
